Internet Transparency Policy (Network Management)

This Internet Transparency Policy outlines the network management practices, service performance characteristics, and commercial terms of WISE Wireless ("Company"). These practices comply with the rules set forth by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and are designed to ensure open, fair, and secure internet access for all customers. The FCC prohibits blocking, throttling, and paid prioritization of lawful content, applications, or services, subject to reasonable network management.

Network Practices

Congestion Management

WISE Wireless addresses congestion in the following ways:

  • Hardware or software malfunctions contributing to congestion are resolved as quickly as possible by our network engineers.
  • Malicious traffic is mitigated using techniques such as rate-limiting and protocol-aware filtering.
  • Offenders may be subject to criminal prosecution and reimbursement of associated damages.
  • Traffic may be prioritized during peak times based on application type (real-time vs. non-real-time).
  • Upload/download speed thresholds may be applied if usage exceeds reasonable limits.
  • Bandwidth-intensive or abusive behavior may result in speed limits or account management review.

Our team monitors bandwidth and device usage on a per-account basis to ensure network health and fair access. Peak hours typically fall between:

  • Weekdays: 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Weekends: 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM

During these periods, essential services like browsing, streaming, email, VoIP, gaming, and messaging are prioritized.

User-Based Practices

We do not target specific users or user groups for any form of throttling or congestion management.

Blocking or Throttling

We reserve the right to limit or disconnect accounts if they:

  • Pose a threat to network security or system integrity
  • Repeatedly violate our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
  • Engage in harmful or illegal activity online

However, WISE Wireless will not:

  • Block lawful content or non-harmful devices
  • Throttle lawful internet traffic based on content, user, or device type
  • Degrade or impair specific applications unless part of disclosed network management

Affiliated or Paid Prioritization

WISE Wireless does not engage in any traffic prioritization practices that benefit affiliates or involve paid prioritization arrangements.

Zero Rating

We do not offer zero-rating programs (free access to specific applications that bypass data limits).

Application-Specific Behavior

We do not alter or interfere with specific applications, protocols, or services except in the following cases:

  • Blocking malformed or non-standard protocol traffic
  • Restricting outbound SMTP traffic on residential IPs to prevent spam

Device Attachment Rules

All connected devices must comply with industry standards and must not harm or interfere with the WISE Wireless network.

Security

WISE Wireless takes steps to secure our infrastructure and protect customer connectivity. However, customers are responsible for protecting their own devices, networks, and data. We assume no liability for any breach or damage to customer-owned systems while using our service.
